More than a decade ago, a simple campfire conversation planted the seed for what would eventually become Naturally Lathered Tallow Co. What started as a dream of living closer to the land slowly grew into the life we live today—one rooted in homesteading, faith, and a desire to live more intentionally.

Over the years, our homestead became a place of learning, growth, and purpose. We embraced the rhythms of a simpler life—raising animals, preserving our own food, baking bread from scratch, and learning the value of using every part of what God provides. That journey naturally led us to rediscover one of the most time-honored ingredients in traditional skincare: tallow.

What began as a small experiment in our kitchen quickly became something much more meaningful. As we started crafting our own soaps and skincare products, we were amazed by how nourishing and effective tallow truly is. Our skin felt softer, calmer, and deeply hydrated in a way we hadn’t experienced before. Redness and irritation faded, and these simple, natural formulations became an essential part of our daily routine.

But the beauty of tallow didn’t stop there. On long fishing trips and evenings outdoors, we discovered something unexpected—our tallow products worked incredibly well at keeping mosquitoes at bay, often outperforming the chemical bug sprays we had relied on in the past. And when a bug bite did sneak through, it quickly soothed irritated skin.

Those little discoveries reminded us of something powerful: sometimes the best solutions are the ones nature has provided all along.
